Why Capcom Scrapped Resident Evil 4 Four Times
Why did Capcom scrap Resident Evil 4 four times?
Hideki Kamiya's first build starred a stylish superhuman. Creator Shinji Mikami felt it strayed from horror, so it became Devil May Cry. The restart, dubbed the fog version, was 40 percent done in 2002. It got scrapped too.
So Mikami directed it himself, and it sold 15.2 million copies.
The verdict: Horror was Mikami's line, and the one documented cut crossed it. Kamiya's camera survived into the game you know.
