Zelda Ocarina of Time Remake Cut Its Own Fast Travel
Why did the Ocarina of Time remake scrap fast travel?
Producer Eiji Aonuma asked for warp points himself, then had the team pull them all out. Playtests with warps lost the moments where you stop and wonder, 'Wait, what's this?'
You won't be stuck rolling, though. There's a sprint button, and Epona still waits at Lon Lon Ranch.
The verdict: Because the warps killed discovery. Granted, Breath of the Wild spoiled you with warps everywhere. But a sprint button fixes the real problem, and we think that's the right trade.
