Mass Effect's TV Show Survives BioWare's Closure

BioWare closed this week, but Mass Effect isn't finished: Amazon's Prime Video series is still going ahead.

IGN says Prime Video sources confirmed it, and every creative attached to the show is still on board. Meanwhile, EA cut around 400 jobs and canceled Mass Effect 5. Its writers say it was really cool.

The show is set after the original trilogy. There's no release date yet.

The context: So the next new Mass Effect story lands on a TV, not a console. In fairness, that keeps the universe alive. But Steam shows just 16 people playing the original Mass Effect today. We think a show is a consolation prize, not a rescue.
